Schönewalde is a picturesque city where the local government, while pushing forward the development of various industries, pays close attention to improving living conditions of the local residents, such as enriching the city's public spaces, enhancing the ecological and social environment. In response to the local demands, Everbright International has helped to construct three sports facilities for children that will support their health development. So far, two of these three facilities have been completed and opened to the public. The local government and residents have expressed their gratitude to the Group for its efforts and contribution towards children's health development in the local communities.

Mr. Chen Xiaoping, CEO of Everbright International said, "Children's development lays an important foundation for sustainable development. A number of objectives and indicators in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainability Development launched by the United Nations are highly relevant for children's lives and development, and are important because the children of today will shape the world of tomorrow. All segments of society need to have great input in children's development and provide them long-term support."

Mr. Chen Xiaoping added: "As a corporate citizen, Everbright International not only runs an environmental-friendly business that holds itself to high standards, but also enthusiastically takes up its environmental and social responsibilities by providing environmental management solutions and listening to the advice and demands of local communities. In recent years, the Group has partnered with the government and residents of Schönewalde to support the city's goal of ‘Prioritising the Development of Facilities for Children', and has so far made substantial progress. Looking forward, Everbright International will continue following its core value of ‘An enterprise is not only the Creator of Wealth, but also the Safeguard of Environmental and Social Responsibility'. Accordingly, the Group will further enhance its overall capability to serve the environment and society by improving its strength and influence."
