On 9 May 2004, Everbright Environmental Protection Venture Captial (Shenzheu) Company Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of China Everbright International Limited, signed a letter of intent for strategic alliance with Seghers Keppel Technology (Asia) Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Keppel Group in Singapore. Two companies will endeavour to all-round cooperation through many extensive projects. The attendance of the signing ceremony and group discussion includes Mr. Chen Xiaoping, Chief Executive Officer of Everbright International, Mr. Fan Yan Hok, Philip, General Manager and Mr. P.W. Yick, Managing Director of Keppel Integrated Engineering Ltd.
Seghers Keppel was established after Keppel Group of Singapore acquired Seghers Company of Belgium. Seghers is a world renowned waste-to-energy incineration technical engineering firm. They have been providing engineering and technical services for two completed and two developing projects in Shenzhen and Changshu. In addition, Keppel Group is a world leader in the area of water treatment techniques and had provided technical engineering services to seven sewage treatment cases in the PRC.
After nearly one year of exchange of ideas, Everbright Environmental and Seghers signed letter of intent for strategic alliance. As for the alliance, besides the cooperation in the area of engineering techniques, they will also begin all-round cooperation in areas such as joint investment, technical consultation, project operation management and joint exploration of domestic and overseas environmental projects. After the signing ceremony, two parties further discussed some details of the next step of cooperation.
