Everbright International Signed a Cooperation Agreement with Zibo Municipal Government of Shandong Province

Initiate Discussions on Waste-to-energy and Hazardous Waste Treatment Projects
Foster a New Round of Cooperation

(10th April, 2013, Hong Kong) - China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (Hong Kong stock code: 00257) is pleased to announce that the Group has signed a cooperation agreement with Zibo Municipal Government of Shandong Province. The agreement further enhances the comprehensive and multi-dimensional cooperation among the two parties in the areas of environmental protection and alternative energy.

Zibo City has always been a target market for expansion for Everbright International. Since 2005, Everbright International has invested, constructed and operated various projects in Zibo City including waste water treatment projects, reusable water projects and waste water source heat pump projects, commanding a total investment of approximately HKD1 billion with a daily waste water processing capacity of 390,000 tonnes.

Mr. Chen Xiaoping, Chief Executive Officer of Everbright International said, "Everbright International and Zibo Municipal Government have established a long term and mutually beneficial relationship through years of cooperation and Zibo Municipal Government has always been very supportive of the Group's development in the city. We are optimistic about the Group's future development in Zibo. The signing of the agreement also signifies the recognition of Zibo Municipal Government on the operational and developmental vision of Everbright International. In addition to environmental water projects and alternative energy projects, the Group will initiate discussions on waste-to-energy projects and hazardous waste treatment projects with Zibo Municipal Government. We intend to apply the advanced waste incineration and hazardous waste treatment technologies to projects in Zibo, to support strategic development of emerging industries in Zibo City."
