Everbright International Secures Jiangsu Jiangyin Waste-to-energy Project Phase III and Wins Suqian Food Waste Treatment Project

8 January 2016, Hong Kong - China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that it has signed a supplementary agreement to its household waste-to-energy project concession agreement with Jiangyin Public Utility Management Bureau, Jiangsu Province. The Group will invest in the construction of the Jiangyin Waste-to-energy Project ("Jiangyin Project") Phase III.

Jiangyin Project Phase III will be constructed on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) basis with a concession period of 30 years. It has a designed daily household waste processing capacity of 1,000 tonnes and will be equipped with two 500 tonne/day furnaces and a 25MW power generator. With the dismantled of the previous leachate treatment facility, the project will also build a new leachate treatment facility which will have a daily processing capacity of 1,000 tonnes. The total investment of Jiangyin Project Phase III is approximately RMB580 million. All gas emissions will fully comply with the Euro 2000 Standard and it is expected to generate approximately 105,000,000 kWh of green electricity annually. The Jiangyin Project Phase I and II commenced operation in 2008 and 2011 respectively with a total designed daily household waste processing capacity of 1,200 tonnes.

In addition, Everbright International announced that it has won the bid for the Jiangsu Suqian Food Waste Treatment Project ("Suqian Food Waste Project"), which is one of the 15 PPP pilot projects in Jiangsu Province. Everbright International will hold an equity interest of 80% and the Suqian Municipal Government will hold a 20% equity interest. Suqian Food Waste Project will be constructed on a BOT basis with a concession period of 30 years. It has a designed daily food waste processing capacity of 200 tonnes. Phase I has a designed daily food waste processing capacity of 100 tonnes and the total investment is approximately RMB79 million.
