Everbright International Included in the FTSE4Good Index for the First time

17 August 2017, Hong Kong – China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that the Group has been included in the FTSE4Good Index for the first time, once again reflecting the recognition within the investment community of the Group's strong performance in exercising its corporate social responsibilities.

The FTSE4Good Index Series is designed to identify companies that demonstrate strong globally-recognised Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices. The indices apply certain criteria to identify qualified companies for inclusion. These companies should demonstrate that they have carried out certain initiatives and comply with stringent global standards across various aspects of corporate responsibilities, including environmental management, mitigation of climate change, protection of labor rights and labor standards in the supply chain.

The FTSE4Good Index Series was launched in 2001 by FTSE Russell, a global index provider which is part of London Stock Exchange Group. The index series was the world's first globally-recognised corporate responsibility index series and facilitated the sustainable investment model to become a mainstream practice in the market. The index series also helps investors to identify and invest in companies that comply with globally-approved corporate responsibility standards.

Everbright International has been dedicated to fulfilling its corporate social responsibilities at the same time as pursuing business growth.
