China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or "the Group") has signed a cooperative framework agreement with the Municipal Government of Suqian City (the "Suqian Municipal Government") in Jiangsu Province to develop Suqian Environmental Protection Veinous Industrial Park ("Suqian Industrial Park"), which will be the third such development of the Group following the Suzhou Everbright National Demonstrative Veinous Industrial Park and Zhenjiang Environmental Protection Industrial Park.

The Suqian Industrial Park project commands a total investment of approximately RMB1,600,000,000. The Group will invest, build and operate the project in phases within three to five years. The industrial park will include various energy conservation and emission reduction projects including household waste-to-energy projects, collection and recycling of used plastics operations, facilities for dismantling and recycling electronic wastes and used cars, residue food resources re-use, sludge treatment, hazardous waste landfill, integrated use of incineration residues and construction wastes, medical waste treatment, methane-to-energy and development of green technologies. The Suqian Municipal Government has also agreed to actively support Everbright International in developing alternative energy projects like photovoltaic solar and wind power projects etc.

Mr. Chen Xiaoping, Chief Executive Officer of Everbright International, said, "Having won the tender of the Suqian waste-to-energy project earlier and now the Suqian Industrial Park project, we have expanded our business scope in northern Jiangsu Province, and will achieve better vertical integration of its environmental protection industrial chain promising greater economies of scale. The project will be implemented in phases as planned, following the principle of ‘implementing projects with one success followed by another'. The Group aims to build the park into a national grade modern veinous industrial park and an environmental protection promotion and education base as well as an ecological tourism destination featuring expertise in integrated recycling and solid waste treatment."
