Everbright International Secures Waste-to-energy Project in Shouguang City, Shandong Province

Building a Model Demonstration Project while Consolidating Industry Leadership

China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") is delighted to announce that it has recently secured a household waste-to-energy project in Shouguang City, Shandong Province ("Shouguang Project" or "the Project"), which strengthened its leading position in the environmental protection market of Shandong Province. The Shouguang Project is designed with a total daily household waste processing capacity of 1,000 tonnes. Phase I of the Project, with a daily processing capacity of 600 tonnes, commands a total investment of approximately RMB338 million. It is expected to have an annual processing capacity of 260,000 tonnes and generate approximately electricity of 80,000,000 kWh annually.

Mr. Chen Xiaoping, Chief Executive Officer of Everbright International, said, "The Shouguang Project is the seventh waste-to-energy project that Everbright International has secured so far this year, and the second project of its kind in Shandong Province. Shandong Province is one of China's major economic engines and its comprehensive economic strength is ranked top three nationwide. The acquisition of the Project not only enhances the Group's leading position in the area, but also lays a solid foundation for the Group to expand its business in Shandong Province. Looking ahead, the Group is striving to take the Jinan waste-to-energy project as reference to improve the design, construction, operation and management of the Shouguang Project. The goal is to build a model demonstration project for environmental education within Shouguang City and as well as contribute to the local community from social and environmental aspects."
