Suqian Hazardous Solid Waste Landfill Project Commences Operation

Opening a new chapter for hazardous Solid Waste Management in N Jiangsu

(Hong Kong, 30 January 2013) China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE:00257) is delighted to announce that the Suqian Hazardous Solid Waste Landfill Project (the "Suqian Project" or the "Project") has commenced operation on 22January 2013, opening a new chapter in the management of hazardous solid waste in Northern Jiangsu Province.

Acquired on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) basis, the Suqian Project is constructed and operated by Everbright International. The Project consists of two phases. Phase one of the Project, with a lot size of 66,000 m2, has a storage capacity of 300,000 m3 and a safe hazardous waste disposal and landfill capacity of 20,000 tons per year, involving an investment of RMB99.09 million. The Project mainly services Suqian city with an extended reach of its surrounding areas.
