Everbright International Pizhou Waste-to-energy Project Completes Construction and Commences Operation

13 July 2014, Hong Kong – China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that the Pizhou Waste-to-energy Project Phase I ("Pizhou Project" or the "Project") has completed construction and commenced operation. It has been connected to the national power grid and has started generating electricity.

With a total investment of approximately RMB330 million, Pizhou Project has a designed daily household waste processing capacity of 600 tonnes and is expected to generate green electricity of over 71,000,000 KWh annually. The Project is equipped with a 12MW electricity generator and two grate furnaces, each of which has a daily waste processing capacity of 300 tonnes. The Project is invested on a BOT basis with a concession period of 30 years and its gas emission complies with the Euro 2000 Standard.

Mr. Chen Xiaoping, CEO of Everbright International, said, "Pizhou Project is the first environmental energy project that Everbright International has invested in a county-level city in the northern part of Jiangsu province. It is expected to process approximately 240,000 tonnes of household waste annually in Pizhou City through harmless treatment, reduction and reuse of household waste. The construction team adheres to the principles of First Class Quality, High Standard, Advanced Technology and Outstanding Efficiency to make the Project a high quality pilot plant, which meets the expectation of the public and government. The Project will also be an environmental protection education base in Northern Jiangsu province, which will contribute to the creation of a more livable environment in Pizhou City."
