Mr. Chen Xiaoping continued, "Changzhou Waste-to-energy Project, the first environmental protection project that Everbright International invested in Changzhou City, is located in a busy area in Wujin District in the city. Since its completion of construction in 2008, it has adhered to high standards of operation and maintained strong relations with surrounding communities. It processes approximately 380,000 tonnes of household waste annually through harmless treatment, reduction and reuse of household waste. The Group also secured Changzhou Photovoltaic Energy Project, Changzhou Everbright Environmental Protection Industrial Park Project, Changzhou Xinbei Waste-to-energy Project, and now, Changzhou Hazardous Solid Waste Treatment Project, demonstrating the high recognition in which the Changzhou Municipal Government holds the Group's project operation and management policies. Changzhou Hazardous Solid Waste Treatment Project is situated next to Xinbei Project. The two projects will share public facilities, so as to reduce costs, conduct centralized management, and enhance their competitiveness. Together with Suez Environnement, the Group will construct a high quality environmental protection project and ensure it achieves optimum economic and social benefits."
