Everbright Water Secures Maidao Waste Water Treatment Upgrading Project

Singapore, 17 May 2016 – China Everbright Water Limited ("Everbright Water" or the "Company", SGX: U9E) (中国光大水务有限公司), an environmental protection company focusing on integrated environmental water services, is pleased to announce that it has secured the Qingdao Waste Water Treatment Upgrading Project (Maidao Plant) ("Maidao Upgrading Project" or the "Project").

The total investment of the Project is approximately RMB208 million to upgrade the current project that has a daily waste water treatment capacity of 140,000 m3. The main purpose of the upgrading is to reduce the concentration of chemical oxygen demand ("COD") and pollutants, such as NH3-H, in the waste water. The waste water treatment capacity of the Project will remain unchanged. The quality of the water discharge will be upgraded from National Grade 1B standard to National Grade 1A standard.

Qingdao Waste Water Treatment Project (Maidao Plant) mainly treats waste water from the area between the east of Nan Hai Road in south Qingdao and the west of Wushan Community of Laoshan District. With the improvement of the living standards of local residents and the boom of Qingdao's tourism industry, the daily concentration of COD and pollutants, such as NH3-H, in the city's waste water increases. Therefore, upgrading of the Project's waste water treatment technologies is needed to further improve the quality of the water discharge.

Mr. Wang Tianyi, Executive Director and Chairman of Everbright Water, said, "Qingdao Waste Water Treatment Project (Maidao Plant) is located in downtown Qingdao. Meanwhile, it also helped to process waste water for the sailing regatta area during the Beijing 2008 Olympics. Currently, the Project is semi-enclosed, but following the final completion, it will be fully-enclosed. The overall upgrading will certainly further improve the quality of the surrounding environment and general sea water quality in Qingdao."
