Everbright International Secures Five Waste-to-energy Projects
Contributing a Daily Waste Processing Capacity of 2,700 Tonnes

Hong Kong, 3 October 2019 – China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Company") (HKSE: 257) is pleased to announce that the Company has recently secured five waste-to-energy projects, with a total investment of approximately RMB1.619 billion. These projects include Hebei Xian County Waste-to-energy PPP Project ("Xian County Project"), Shandong Zhucheng Waste-to-energy Project ("Zhucheng Project"), Shandong Xiajin Waste-to-energy PPP Project ("Xiajin Project"), Hunan Yiyang Waste-to-energy Plant Expansion Project ("Yiyang Expansion Project"), and Anhui Ma'anshan Waste-to-energy Project ("Ma'anshan Project") Phase II.

Xian County Project marks Everbright International's first household waste treatment project in Hebei Province. The project will be invested in and constructed based on a PPP (Public-private Partnership) model for a concession period of 30 years (construction period inclusive). With Everbright International holding an 88% equity stake, the project commands an investment of approximately RMB350 million and is designed with a daily household waste processing capacity of 600 tonnes. It will be equipped with two 300 tonnes/day grate furnaces and a 12MW turbine power generator, and is expected to generate on-grid electricity of approximately 78 million kWh annually. The gas emissions will fully comply with relevant national standards, with the daily average level of online monitored gas emissions superior to the Euro 2010 Standard.

Zhucheng Project is designed with a daily household waste processing capacity of 1,000 tonnes and will be constructed in two phases. With Everbright International holding an 80% equity stake, Zhucheng Project Phase I has a designed daily waste processing capacity of 500 tonnes and commands an investment of approximately RMB374 million. It will be invested in and constructed based on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model for a concession period of 30 years (construction period inclusive). Zhucheng Project Phase I will be equipped with a 500 tonnes/day grate furnace and a 12MW turbine power generator, and is expected to generate on-grid electricity of 74 million kWh annually. A fly ash harmless landfill pool with a capacity of 171,000 m3 will be constructed simultaneously as an ancillary facility to the project. The gas emissions will fully comply with relevant national standards, with the daily average level of online monitored gas emissions superior to the Euro 2010 standard.

Xiajin Project, with a designed daily household waste processing capacity of 900 tonnes, will be constructed in two phases. Xiajin Project Phase I is designed with a daily waste processing capacity of 600 tonnes and commands an investment of approximately RMB382 million. It will be invested in and constructed based on a PPP model, with a concession period of 30 years (construction period inclusive). The project will be equipped with two 300 tonnes/day grate furnaces and a 15MW turbine power generator, and is expected to generate 84 million kWh of on-grid electricity annually. The gas emissions will fully comply with relevant national standards, with the daily average level of online monitored gas emissions superior to the Euro 2010 standard.

Yiyang Expansion Project has a designed daily household waste processing capacity of 600 tonnes, with an investment of approximately RMB375 million. The project will be equipped with a 600 tonnes/day grate furnace and a 15MW turbine power generator, and is expected to generate 90 million kWh of on-grid electricity annually. The gas emissions will fully comply with relevant national standards, with the daily average level of online monitored gas emissions superior to the Euro 2010 Standard. Yiyang waste-to-energy Project, which has already commenced operation, has a designed daily household waste processing capacity of 800 tonnes and generates approximately 81 million kWh of on-grid electricity annually.

Ma'anshan Project Phase II has a designed daily household waste processing capacity of 400 tonnes, with an investment of approximately RMB138 million. It will be handed over to the local government together with Ma'anshan Project Phase I. Ma'anshan Project Phase II will be equipped with a 400 tonnes/day grate furnace and an 8MW turbine power generator. It is expected to generate on-grid electricity of approximately 40 million kWh annually. The gas emissions will fully comply with relevant national standards, with the daily average level of online monitored gas emissions superior to the Euro 2010 Standard. Ma'anshan Project Phase I, which has already commenced operation, has a designed daily household waste processing capacity of 800 tonnes and generates approximately 98 million kWh of on-grid electricity annually.
