Everbright International Secures Henan Pingyu Waste-to-energy Project


12 December 2018, Hong Kong – China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that it has won the bid for Henan Pingyu Waste-to-energy Project ("Pingyu Project" or the "Project") and recently signed the Pingyu Project Phase I Concession Agreement with the Urban Administrative and Law Enforcement Bureau of Pingyu County in Zhumadian City of Henan Province.

Pingyu Project will be invested in and constructed on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) basis for a concession period of 30 years (construction period inclusive). The Project has a designed daily household waste processing capacity of 1,050 tonnes and will mainly responsible for processing the household waste in the Pingyu County area. The Project Phase I is designed to have a daily household waste processing capacity of 700 tonnes, commanding an investment of approximately RMB426 million. It is equipped with two self-developed 350 tonnes/day mechanic grate furnaces, two medium-temperature sub-high-pressure waste heat boilers and one turbine power generator. Its gas emissions will fully comply with relevant national standards, with the daily average level of online monitored gas emissions superior to the Euro 2010 Standard.

Mr. Wang Tianyi, CEO of Everbright International, said, "The implementation of Pingyu Project will allow for the harmless treatment, reduction and reuse of all local household waste in Pingyu County area, establishing a new model for environmental protection in the county. This Project is Everbright International’s eighth waste-to-energy project in Henan Province, following projects in Xinzheng, Lankao, Taikang, Ruzhou, Xiayi, Sheqi and Zhecheng. Xinzheng Waste-to-energy Project and Lankao Waste-to-energy Project have been in operation for over one year, and have harmlessly treated a total of over 700,000 tonnes of household waste and generated more than 200 million kWh of green electricity. They have also supported the constant improvement of the local waste collection and transportation system."
