Everbright International Secures Multiple Environmental Protection Projects
Contributing a Daily Waste Processing Capacity of 3,350 Tonnes

2 January 2020, Hong Kong – China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Company") (HKSE: 257) is pleased to announce that the Company has recently signed five waste-to-energy projects, contributing a total daily waste processing capacity of 3,350 tonnes, with a total investment of approximately RMB2.064 billion. The projects include Tianjin Beichen Waste-to-energy Project ("Beichen Project") Phase II, Shandong Leling Waste-to-energy Project, Henan Shenqiu Waste-to-energy Project, Shandong Dongping Waste-to-energy Project, and Jiangsu Pei County Waste-to-energy Project ("Pei County Project") Phase II.

Beichen Project, which was secured by the Company in November 2018, has a total designed daily household waste processing capacity of 3,000 tonnes, of which phase I of the project has a daily waste processing capacity of 2,250 tonnes. The civil work and construction of public facilities relating to the project will be completed all at once, in order to fulfil the needs of processing 3,000 tonnes of waste on a daily basis. The project also has a daily food waste treatment capacity of 200 tonnes. A place has been reserved for a waste incineration line with a daily processing capacity of 750 tonnes. Beichen Project Phase I commenced construction in June 2019 and is currently under construction. Phase II of the project has recently commenced construction, because of the surge in waste amount and a substantial amount of temporarily-stored waste to be processed in the northern urban area of Tianjin City. Beichen Project Phase II is designed to have a daily household waste processing capacity of 750 tonnes, with an investment of approximately RMB265 million. A 750 tonnes/day grate furnace and an ancillary gas purification system will be set up in the reserved area. The gas emissions will fully comply with relevant national standards, with the daily average level of online monitored gas emissions superior to the Euro 2010 Standard.

Leling Waste-to-energy Project will be constructed based on a PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model, with a concession period of 30 years. With a total investment of RMB590 million, the project has a designed daily waste processing capacity of 1,000 tonnes. It will be equipped with two 500 tonnes/day grate furnaces and two turbine power generators with capacities of 9MW and 12MW, respectively. The project is expected to generate green electricity of approximately 128,000,000 kWh annually. The gas emissions will fully comply with relevant national standards, with the daily average level of online monitored gas emissions superior to the Euro 2010 Standard.

Shenqiu Waste-to-energy Project will be invested in and constructed on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model for a concession period of 30 years, with a total investment of approximately RMB634 million. With a designed daily waste processing capacity of 800 tonnes and a designed daily food waste processing capacity of 50 tonnes, the project will be equipped with two 400 tonnes/day mechanical grate furnaces and an 18MW turbine power generator. It is expected to generate green electricity of approximately 107,000,000 kWh annually. The gas emissions will fully comply with relevant national standards, with the daily average level of online monitored gas emissions superior to the Euro 2010 Standard.

Dongping Waste-to-energy Project will be invested in and constructed on a BOT model for a concession period of 30 years, with an investment of approximately RMB375 million. With a daily household waste processing capacity of 500 tonnes, the project will be equipped with a 500 tonnes/day mechanical grate furnace and a 12MW turbine power generator. It is expected to generate green electricity of approximately 71,000,000 kWh annually. The gas emissions will fully comply with relevant national standards, with the daily average level of online monitored gas emissions superior to the Euro 2010 Standard.

Pei County Project Phase II is an expansion project of Pei County Project Phase I, which has a daily waste processing capacity of 500 tonnes. Pei County Project Phase II will be invested in and constructed on a BOT model for a concession period of 25 years, with an investment of approximately RMB200 million. With a daily waste processing capacity of 300 tonnes, the project will be equipped with a 300 tonnes/day mechanical grate furnace and a 6MW turbine power generator. It is expected to generate green electricity of approximately 37,500,000 kWh annually. The gas emissions will fully comply with relevant national standards, with the daily average level of online monitored gas emissions superior to the Euro 2010 Standard.

In addition to the above-mentioned projects, Everbright International has secured several environmental protection projects, including Yiyang Food Waste Treatment Project, Yiyang Medical Waste Treatment Project and Yiyang Sludge Treatment Project in Hunan Province; Sanya Sludge Treatment and Disposal Project in Hainan Province; and Ningbo Ninghai Food Waste Treatment Project in Zhejiang Province, all of which command a total investment of RMB208 million.
