As at 30 June 2018, the Group had secured 85 waste-to-energy projects, 2 landfill leachate treatment projects, 2 methane-to-energy projects, 3 sludge treatment and disposal projects, and 8 food waste treatment projects, with a total investment of approximately RMB41 billion. These projects are designed with an annual household waste processing capacity of approximately 27.14 million tonnes, which can generate annual on-grid electricity of approximately 8.7 billion kWh. The annual sludge treatment capacity is approximately 73,000 tonnes, while the annual food waste treatment capacity is approximately 337,625 tonnes.
Projects in Operation
|Project||Average Annual Electricity
|Suzhou Methane-to-energy Project Phase I||18,000,000||28|
|Suzhou Methane-to-energy Project Phase II||9,000,000||13|
Suzhou Methane-to-energy Project Phase I and II have a combined annual electricity generation capacity of 27,000,000 kWh. It collects methane produced from waste landfill sites for electricity generation. The project also utilises the high temperatures and residual heat from the gas. It is the first Verified Emission Reduction (VER) project in China that has registered with the Switzerland-based Gold Standard Foundation.
