Everbright International's Boxing Project Receives Green Light to Increase Waste Water Treatment Fee

August 9, 2013, Hong Kong - China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or " the Group") (SEHK: 00257) announced that Everbright Water (Boxing) Limited has been approved by the Boxing County Government to increase the waste water treatment fee of Binzhou Boxing Waste Water Treatment Project in Shandong Province ("Boxing Project") by 15.6% from RMB0.90 per tonne to RMB1.04 per tonne. The new charge has been effective since August 1, 2013. This is the second fee adjustment to come into effect since the Group acquired the Boxing Project in 2007.

Everbright International acquired the Boxing Project Phase I on a TOT (Transfer-Operate-Transfer) basis in 2007 and upgraded it in 2008. The Group extended Phase II by way of BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) in 2009. The Boxing Project has a daily waste water treatment capacity of 60,000 m3, commanding a total investment of approximately RMB85 million.

Mr. Chen Xiaoping, CEO of Everbright International, said, "Considering the current situation of controlling local water pollution and the significant development of the waste water treatment industry, the Boxing Project has once again been approved to increase its waste water treatment fee this year, after coordinating with several local government departments, including the Environmental Protection Bureau, Construction Bureau and Price Bureau. The fee adjustment represents the endorsement and recognition from the local government of Everbright International's waste water treatment business. The Group will continue to treat waste water according to high standards and strive to expand and strengthen the business with continued innovation to further benefit our society."
