Everbright International's First Waste-to-energy Project in Guangdong Completes Construction and Commences Operation

4 August 2015, Hong Kong – China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that its Boluo Household Waste-to-energy Project in Guangdong Province ("Boluo Project" or the "Project") has completed construction and commenced operation. The Project is invested in on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) basis, and its gas emissions fully comply with the Euro 2000 Standard.

Boluo Project is the Group's first projects in Guangdong Province completed construction and commenced operation. Project Phase I has a daily waste processing capacity of 700 tonnes, with a total investment of approximately RMB447 million. It is expected to generate approximately 91,000,000 kWh of green electricity annually.

As one of the four ancient counties in Guangdong Province, Boluo County has been selected as one of the top 100 counties for economic development potential in the China County-level Economic Development Report (2015) compiled by the China Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). The county also attaches strategic importance to innovation and strives to foster new sources of growth. Everbright International is dedicated to developing the Project into an innovative environmental protection demonstration base that features environmental education and culture, as well as eco-tourism. The Project will serve as a model for improving environmental quality, optimizing resource allocation and boosting economic benefits.
