Everbright International Sees Multiple Waste-to-energy Projects Complete Construction and Commence Operation

11 August 2017, Hong Kong – China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that the Group's Weifang Waste-to-energy Project ("Weifang Project") Phase II in Shandong Province, Suining Waste-to-energy Project ("Suining Project") in Sichuan Province, and Gaochun Waste-to-energy Project ("Gaochun Project") in Jiangsu Province have recently completed construction and commenced operation in succession.

Weifang Project Phase II is designed with a daily household waste processing capacity of 500 tonnes, with a total investment of approximately RMB165 million. The project is equipped with a self-developed 500 tonnes/day mechanic grate furnace and a 12MW turbine power generator with auxiliary equipment. After Weifang Project Phase II commences operation, the total designed daily household waste processing capacity of Weifang Project will be increased to 1,500 tonnes. Its gas emissions fully comply with the Euro 2010 Standard, and the project is expected to generate 168,000,000 kWh of green electricity annually.

Suining Project is the very first waste-to-energy project that Everbright International has invested in and constructed in Sichuan Province. The project was invested, constructed, and is now operated and managed on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model by Sichuan Everbright Environmental Investment Company Limited, a joint venture company established by Everbright International and Sichuan Energy Industry Investment Group Co. Ltd. Suining Project is designed with a daily household waste processing capacity of 800 tonnes, with a total investment of approximately RMB450 million. The project is equipped with two self-developed 400 tonnes/day mechanic grate furnaces and a 15MW turbine power generator with auxiliary equipment. Its gas emissions fully comply with the Euro 2010 Standard and it is expected to generate approximately 76,700,000 kWh of green electricity annually.

Gaochun Project is designed with a daily household waste processing capacity of 500 tonnes, with a total investment of approximately RMB260 million. It is equipped with a self-developed 500 tonnes/day mechanic grate furnace and a 12MW turbine power generator with auxiliary equipment. Its gas emissions fully comply with the Euro 2010 Standard and it is expected to generate approximately 59,000,000 kWh of green electricity annually.
