Everbright International Included in Dow Jones Sustainability Index for Second Consecutive Year

7 September 2017, Hong Kong – China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that as a result of the Group's remarkable sustainable development performance over the past year, it has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Emerging Markets Index for the second consecutive year, effective as of Monday 18 September 2017.

This inclusion amounts to further recognition from the international market of Everbright International's sustainable development performance, following the Group's inclusion in the FTSE4Good Index last month. It is a reflection of how the Group has been devoted itself to the development of its environmental protection business, while at the same time continuing to invest and involve in social sustainable development. Everbright International ensures every single project is developed with a strong sense of social responsibility, operated in accordance with the highest standards in the industry, and managed systematically by strictly adhering to relevant laws and regulations. In addition, the Group has been proactively facilitating and supporting environmental protection education, energy saving, ecological conservation and community care initiatives.

Dow Jones Sustainability Indices ("DJSI") are regarded a long-running internationally-recognised benchmark that measures social responsibility and sustainable development. Launched in 1999, the DJSI are compiled by Dow Jones and the RobecoSAM Group on an annual basis. Using a "best-in-class" approach, the DJSI assess the performance of the world's leading sustainable development corporations based on economic, environmental and social factors, and evaluate corporations' sustainable development capabilities from the investment perspective.
