Everbright International CEO Wang Tianyi Awarded Asia's Best CEO, with the Company Granted Most Honored Company, in 2019 All-Asia Executive Team


As the 2019 All-Asia Executive Team was launched recently by Institutional Investor, a prestigious international financial magazine, Mr. Wang Tianyi, CEO of China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International", or the "Company"), was awarded the "Best CEO", ranking the first in the overall and buy-side categories under the industrials sector. It marks a greater honor for Mr. Wang, following him being awarded Asia's Best CEO for two consecutive years by Corporate Governance Asia magazine.

In the meantime, Everbright International was recognised as Asia's Most Honored Company for the third consecutive year, while Mr. Raymond Wong, CFO of the Company, was awarded Asia's Best CFO and ranked the first in the overall and buy-side categories under the industrials sector.

On 24 September, the organiser of the award held an award ceremony for the winners at Four Seasons Hotel Shenzhen, gathering award-winning guests from 65 listed enterprises across Asia. Mr. Wang Tianyi attended the ceremony and delivered a short speech, saying that "I would like to extend my appreciation to the magazine and all institutional investors for granting me, my team and Everbright International the honors, which also marked a special birthday gift for me today. I would like to share the joy with my management team and over 10,000 staff of the Company. As the future will be full of opportunities and challenges, as well as glories and aspirations, I will work together with my team to develop Everbright International into a world-class ecology and environment management group, the world's largest waste-to-energy investor and operator, and China's largest waste sorting and ‘zero-waste city' services provider."

The Institutional Investor magazine, founded 51 years ago, has become of one of the most influential financial publications in the world. Every year, the magazine conducts an assessment of executive teams from companies in the Asia-Pacific region. The annual award ceremony for this assessment has become a major event in the global capital market and is recognised as a benchmark for investment across the globe. The results of the 2019 All-Asia Executive Team were based on votes from approximately 2,500 investment professionals from investment institutions worldwide. In the assessment results, Mr. Wang Tianyi ranked first as the "Best CEO" for both the overall and buy-side categories under the industrials sector. Chinese winners of other categories include: Li Ning, the founder of Li Ning Co.; Guangyu Yuan, CEO of CNOOC Ltd.; Hou Xiaohai, CEO of China Resources Beer (Holdings) Co.; Tian Huiyu, President of China Merchants Bank Co.; Ma Mingzhe, CEO of Ping An Insurance (Group) Co. of China; Mo Bin, President of Country Garden Holdings Co.; Ma Huateng, the founder of Tencent Holdings, among others.

In the 2019 All-Asia Executive Team, with remarkable operating results, stable financial performance, effective corporate governance, outstanding performance in the environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects, and good investor relations, Everbright International was shortlisted for the 2019 All-Asia Executive Team by the Institutional Investor magazine and ranked among the top in a number of assessment categories, namely the Best Corporate Governance, the Best ESG SRI Metrics, the Best Investor Relations Program, and the Best IR Professional.
