Everbright International's Shandong Rizhao Waste-to-energy Project Completes Construction and Commences Operation

28 October 2015, Hong Kong - China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that its Shandong Rizhao Waste-to-energy Project ("Rizhao Project" or the "Project") Phase I has completed construction and commenced operation. 。

Rizhao Project Phase I started construction in August 2014 and after successfully passing the "72+24" hours trial run in October 2015, it officially commenced commercial operation and connected to the national power grid, completing ahead of schedule by two-and-a-half months. The total investment in Project Phase I was RMB350 million, and it is designed with a daily household waste processing capacity of 600 tonnes. All gas emissions comply with the Euro 2000 Standard and it is expected to generate over 71,000,000 kWh of green electricity annually.

It is also the Group's fourth waste-to-energy project that has commenced operation within the year. Located in Shandong Province, which has a strongly rooted scholarly culture, Rizhao Project was designed and planned in accordance with this regional culture – the shape of the plant is designed to look like a book and the chimney is designed to look as straight as a pen, the integration building the waste-to-energy plant that is comparable to a garden.
