Everbright International Signs Multiple Environmental Protection Projects
Contributing a Daily Waste Processing Capacity of 3,050 Tonnes

Hong Kong, 26 November 2019 – China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Company") (HKSE: 257) is pleased to announce that the Company has recently signed multiple environmental protection projects, including Wuwei Veinous Industrial Park PPP Project in Gansu Province, Boluo Waste-to-energy Plant Expansion and Food Waste Treatment Project in Guangdong Province, as well as Shouguang Waste-to-energy Project Phase II and Weifang Waste-to-energy Project Phase III in Shandong Province. With a total investment of approximately RMB1.993 billion, these projects contribute a total daily waste processing capacity of 3,050 tonnes.

Wuwei Veinous Industrial Park PPP Project is designed to have a daily household waste processing capacity of 800 tonnes and a daily food waste treatment capacity of 80 tonnes, with a total investment of approximately RMB563 million. Equipped with two 400 tonnes/day grate furnaces and a 15MW steam turbine power generator, the project is expected to generate on-grid electricity of approximately 100 million kWh annually. The gas emissions will fully comply with relevant national standards, with the daily average level of online monitored gas emissions superior to the Euro 2010 standard.

Boluo Waste-to-energy Plant Expansion and Food Waste Treatment Project, with a total investment of approximately RMB682 million, will be invested in and constructed based on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model, for a concession period of 30 years. Equipped with an 850 tonnes/day mechanical grate furnace and a 25MW mid-temperature ultra-high pressure steam turbine power generator, the expansion of the waste-to-energy plant and ancillary projects will add a daily waste processing capacity of 850 tonnes to the existing project, and is expected to generate on-grid electricity of 140 million kWh annually. The gas emissions will fully comply with relevant national standards, with the daily average level of online monitored gas emissions superior to the Euro 2010 standard. In addition, the food waste treatment project is designed to have a daily food waste processing capacity of 100 tonnes.

Shouguang Waste-to-energy Project Phase II commands an investment of approximately RMB240 million and has a designed daily waste processing capacity of 400 tonnes. The project will be equipped with a 400 tonnes/day mechanical grate furnace and a 9MW steam turbine power generator. It is expected to generate on-grid electricity of approximately 40 million kWh annually. The gas emissions will fully comply with relevant national standards, with the daily average level of online monitored gas emissions superior to the Euro 2010 standard. Once Shouguang Waste-to-energy Project Phase II completes construction and commences operation, the total designed daily waste processing capacity of Shouguang Waste-to-energy Project will reach 1,000 tonnes, which will generate on-grid electricity up to 120 million kWh annually.

Weifang Waste-to-energy Project Phase III, with a total investment of approximately RMB508 million, has a total designed daily waste processing capacity of 1,000 tonnes, and will be implemented in two stages. Stage I of the project commands an investment of approximately RMB403 million, with a designed daily waste processing capacity of 500 tonnes. It will be equipped with a 500 tonnes/day mechanical grate furnace and a 12MW steam turbine power generator. Project stage I will construct all relevant plant facilities all at once, while an area for the future development of the project stage II is reserved. The planning and construction for stage II will commence in due course, having regard to the scheduled completion of stage I. The gas emissions of the project will fully comply with relevant national standards, with the daily average level of online monitored gas emissions superior to the Euro 2010 standard.
