Singapore, 2 November 2018 – China Everbright Water Limited ("Everbright Water" or the "Company", SGX: U9E) (中国光大水务有限公司), an environmental protection company focusing on water environment management, is pleased to announce that the Company has recently signed multiple agreements with government authorities of Zibo City, Shandong Province, securing multiple projects, including: the relocation and expansion of Zibo Waste Water Treatment Project (Northern Plant) ("Zibo Plant I" and such project, "Zibo Plant I Relocation and Expansion Project"), the upgrading of Zibo Waste Water Treatment Project (Southern Plant) ("Zibo Plant II" and such project, "Zibo Plant II Upgrading Project") and the upgrading of Zibo High-tech Zone Waste Water Treatment Project ("Zibo Plant III" and such project, "Zibo Plant III Upgrading Project") , all of which are located in Zibo City, Shandong Province. With a total investment of approximately RMB1.047 billion, the Company will invest in, construct and operate these projects based on a BOOT (build-own-operate-transfer) or a BOT (build-operate-transfer) model. Each of the three projects has a concession period of 30 years (construction period inclusive), starting from the construction commencement date.

Zibo Plant I Relocation and Expansion Project commands an investment of approximately RMB855 million. Pursuant to the agreement, the Zibo Plant I will be relocated and its designed daily treatment capacity will be increased by 50,000 m3 to 250,000 m3. Discharged water of Zibo Plant I Relocation and Expansion Project will comply with the national Grade 1A standard, with some discharge indicators following the Surface Water Quality Standard for Category IV.

Zibo Plant II Upgrading Project commands an investment of approximately RMB109 million and its designed daily waste water treatment capacity will remain unchanged at 50,000 m3. Upon completion of upgrading works, the project’s discharged water will comply with more stringent discharge standards than the national Grade 1A standard, with some discharge indicators following the Surface Water Quality Standard for Category IV.

Zibo Plant III Upgrading Project commands an investment of approximately RMB83 million and its designed daily waste water treatment capacity will remain unchanged at 100,000 m3. Upon completion of upgrading works, the project’s discharged water will comply with more stringent discharge standards than the national Grade 1A standard, with some discharge indicators following the Surface Water Quality Standard for Category IV.

Everbright Water previously acquired Zibo Plant I and Zibo Plant II based on a TOT (transfer-operate-transfer) model, and secured Zibo Plant III based on a BOT model. Zibo Plant I and Zibo Plant II commenced operations in 2005, followed by the commencement of operation of Zibo Plant III in 2007. In addition, the upgrading works of Zibo Plant I and Zibo Plant II were completed in 2008, following which the plants’ discharged water complied with the national Grade 1A standard.

Securing the aforesaid multiple projects in Zibo City is a strong testament that the Company has maintained stable and efficient operations with compliant discharges for many years. This also demonstrates the recognition and trust of the local government and residents in the Company. These newly-secured projects, which serve as a continuation of the waste water treatment services the Company is providing in Zibo City, are expected to boost the existing plants’ operational efficiency and the Company’s economic benefits, and to solidify the Company’s position in the local market.
